AMOS was born on November 17th, 1779 in WRIGHTSBOROUGH, GEORGIA. AMOS' father was ABIATHAR DAVIS and his mother was LYDIA EMBREE. His paternal grandfather was SAMUEL DAVIS and his paternal grandmother is MARY ?; his maternal grandfather was JOHN EMBREE and his maternal grandmother is MARY EMERY. He had three brothers and six sisters, named SAMUEL, JOHN, BENJAMIN, RACHEL, RHODA, MARY, SIBILLA, SARAH and LYDIA. He is the oldest of the ten children.
