Leo Williams Chain 
Leo Williams was born on September 28th, 1892 in Utica Tp, Seward Co., NE. Leo Williams' father was Frank Simms Chain and his mother was Myrtle Emily Williams. His paternal grandparents were Jacob Matthew Chain and Amelia Frances Simms; his maternal grandparents are Wade Williams and Hulda UNKNOWN. He had two brothers named Robert and Ray Hamiliton. He was the second oldest of the three children. He died at the age of 69 on February 3rd, 1962 in Carroll, Carroll Co., IA. Doc graduated from Creighton Medical School in Lincoln, NE. He interned at San Francisco Hospital, (CA) at the end of WWI. He was recorded at the hospital, on Potrero Ave, for the 1920 CA census. He met his future wife, Jessie,while the two were in school in Nebraska.
Doc and Jessie were married by The Reverend Chessman Lenfest (step-brother to Jessie's father, George R. Gowen) in the Lenfest home.
Doc and Jessie moved to Dedham, Carroll County, Iowa, shortly before the birth of their first child. Doc practiced medicine in Dedham for over forty years. They donated land to the City of Dedham for the VFW Hall which is there now (2002) and is used regularly by people throughout the county.
After Doc's death Jessie moved to California to be closer to her daughter.
