William H. was born in 1841.  William H.'s father was Henry Caleb Casdorph and his mother was Deliah Ann Lacy.  His paternal grandparents are Henry Casdorph and Elizabeth Susan Guthrie; his maternal grandparents were Caleb Lacy and Lucy Lydia Horton. He had a brother and two sisters, named George H., Hannah and Mary Jane.  He is the second youngest of the four children. He had four half-brothers and eight half-sisters, named Calab Henry, Nicholas, Marshal Azariah, Squire Jarrett, Leonora Elizabeth, Cynthia Emizetta, Mahala Susan, Lestona, Pharlena Lydia, Delilah, Zaida Margaret and Lucinda Alwilda.
