He married 15 September 1683 in Amsterdam, Netherlands,Adriana de Voss, daughter of Jacob July 1635, son of Peter de Voss andJannicke Van DerMers> and Elizabeth BATTENDE VOSS, who was born Jan 27,1662 in Amsterdam. Their 5 known children, Herman, Henry, Jane, Mary, andJacob were born in Amsterdam, Netherlands between years 1686 and 1696. OnMay 5, 1700 harmon and Adriana and their children boarded ship in Hamburgto come to Philadelphia. In 1708 they were members of the MennoniteChurch in Germantown, Pennsylvania. Harmon died about 1717 inPhiladelphia and Adriana died before 1713. The author traces her familyfrom Harman to her grandchildren. Descendants lived in West Virginia,Texas, and Oregon. Includes names of Atkinson, Cavender, Guthrie, Kolb,Voss, Young, and related families.

Jacob Karsdorp, born 1738 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; died 1827 inCharleston, Kanawha County, Virginia. He was the son of Jacob Karsdorpand Mary Kolb. Jacob was a Private in the War of 1812 under J. WilsonCompany in Kanawha County. In 1781, he received a land grant at Guthriewhich was signed by Governor James Monroe on January 6, 1800. He becamethe first settler of Sissonville, WV.
He was born in Pennsylvania but traveled down in south Virginia toRockinham County, Virginia. In 1778, he received a land grant from LordFairfax for land in Kanawha County, West Virginia and brought his familyto this area. His children moved into neighboring valleys and latergenerations owned large
tracts of land in the Union District, where they farmed. Casdorph Road onRoute 21 is named for this family. Jacob Casdorph was listed as one ofthe tithables of Kanawha County in 1792. In Sissonville: A Time toRemember, a page written by Kenneth Cavender said this: Jacob Casdorphmoved his family to Kanawha County in 1789 or 1790. He came down the OhioRiver and up the Kanawha River. Jacob traded a gray broomtail horse forBlaine Island, though he had a land grant at Guthrie. Jacob's family wasgrowing, they came with him. He settled on Blaine Island, but wasattacked by the indians and driven off in 1790. The next account we haveof this family was that they were settled at Guthrie in 1792 on his landgrant. From Commonwealth of Virginia, Land Grant 521,706, Kanawha CountyLand Warrant #1609, issued 15, October, 1781, to Jacob Casdorph, 150acres at the forks of the first creek that empties into the Kanawha Riverwhich is now know by the name of Kanawha Two Mile.
