Courtland Philip Livingston was born on March 8th, 1813 in Clinton, Oneida, New York.1 Courtland Philip Livingston's father was Samuel Herrick Butler and his mother was Judith Livingston. His paternal grandparents were Nathaniel Butler and Sarah Herrick; his maternal grandparents were Gilbert James Livingston and Susannah Lewis. He was an only child.
