Richard Branham: son of Richard Branham, Senior, and his wife Ann;
born circa 1688; under the terms of his father's will eventuallyreceived
the plantation and all lands of his father; left as will (5) dated
December 12, 1739, and proved March 3, 1739/40. (6) In the will he
refers to himself as being "of the county of Richmond and Parrish of
Lunenburg". Heirs were his son, John Branham, (Certain personaleffects,
and after the decease or re-marriage of his wife, "the plantation andland
on which I now dwell"); his son, Benjamin Branham, (certain personal
effects, money from the estate to pay for his education, and after the
decease or remarriage of his wife, "the Forrest Plantation"); hisdaughter,
Eleanor Branham, (certain personal effects); his loving wife, Alice
Branham, who was also his executrix, (all personal property and real
estate during her lifetime or widowhood). Witnesses were Robert Davis,
Hanna Dozer, and John Dozer.
Issue of Richard and Alice Branham:
1. John Branham: born circa 1722
2. Benjamin Branham: born circa 1725; evidently was young at the timeof
his father's death; received from his father the Forest Plantation;was
joint-executor of the will of his brother, John Branham, in 1775.
3. Eleanor Branham: born circa 1727.
