John Bennett 
John was born on April 15th, 1801. John's father was Jacob Bennett and his mother was Mary Persinger. His paternal grandparents are John Bennett and Sarah Clancy; his maternal grandparents were John Henry Persinger and Griselda Humphries. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Sampson, Henry, William, Jane Jennie, Phebe Margaret, Elizabeth Martha Holoway and Nancy. He was the oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 89 on September 18th, 1890 in Humphries County, West Virginia. He was buried in Mt. Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery, Pool, Humphries County, Virginia.-
