Amy was born about 1842 in , Carroll, Ark. Amy's father is Neely BUTLER and her mother was Amy Arina OZIER. Her paternal grandparents were Thomas "Elias" Butler and Sarah Thompson; her maternal grandparents were Louis OGIER and Susan Martin. She had six brothers and three sisters, named Wilson Sutton, Martin, John, Joel Ozier, William O, Nealy T, Melissa Ann, Tempie and Elizabeth.
