Joane de was born about 1329 in , Berkeley, Gloucestershire, England.  Joane de's father was Thomas Berkeley and her mother was Margaret de MORTIMER.  Her paternal grandparents were Maurice Berkeley and Eva La Zouche; her maternal grandparents were Roger MORTIMER and Joan De GENEVILLE. She had five brothers named Roger de, Thomas de, Alphonsus de, Maurice de and John de.  She was the third youngest of the six children. She had six half-brothers named Nicholas de, Thomas De, Walter de, Maurice De, Edmond De and John.  She died on October 2nd, 1369.  She was buried in , Southwark.
