John Adams 
John was born on October 30th, 1735 in Braintree,(now Quincy),MA.1 John's father was John Adams and his mother was Susanna Boylston. His paternal grandparents were Joseph Adams and Hannah Bass; his maternal grandparents were Peter Boylston and Ann White. He had two brothers named Peter Boylston and Elihu. He was the oldest of the three children. He died at the age of 90 on July 4th, 1826 in Quincy, Norfolk, MA.1 General Notes

John Adams was the first President to live in Washington, D.C. His time in office was disappointing, an unsupportive Congress making it difficult to achieve much of significance. Adams and Thomas Jefferson, his friend and rival, died on the sameday, July 4, 1826, the 50th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.
Adams was a driving force behind the American Revolution and one of the key individuals who ensured its success.
"The subcommittee met. Jefferson proposed to me to make the draft. I said, 'I will not,' 'You should do it.' 'Oh! no.' 'Why will you not? You ought to do it.' 'I will not.' 'Why?' 'Reasons enough.' 'What can be your reasons?' 'Reason first, youare a Virginian, and a Virginian ought to appear at the head of this business. Reason second, I am obnoxious, suspected, and unpopular. You are very much otherwise. Reason third, you can write ten times better than I can.' John Adams, 2nd President, Federalist, was a great grandson of Henry
Adams,
who came from England in 1636. He graduated from Harvard in 1755 andthen
taught school and studied law. He married Abagail Smith in 1764. In
1765 he
argued against taxation without representation before the royal
governor. In
1770 he successfully defended in court the British soldiers who fired on
civilians in the Boston Massacre. He was a delegate to the Continental
Congress
