Richard Vavasour was born in 1689 and his baptism took place on May 20th, 1689 in , Middleton, Lancashire, England. Richard Vavasour's father was Ralph ASHTON and his mother was Mary VAVASOUR. His paternal grandparents were Ralph ASHTON and Anne ASHTON; his maternal grandparents are Thomas VAVASOUR and Dorothy LEIGH. He had a brother and six sisters, named Edmund, Anne, Dorothy, Frances, Elizabeth, Catherine and Mary. He was the fourth youngest of the eight children.
