Maud (Matilda) was born in 1175 in Lincoln, Lincolnshire.1   Maud (Matilda)'s father was Richard De Clare and her mother was Amicia Fitz Robert.  Her paternal grandparents were Roger 'The Good' De Clare and Maud De St. Hillary; her maternal grandparents were William Fitzrobert and Hawise De Beaumont. She had two brothers named Gilbert and Richard Roger.  She was the oldest of the three children. She had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named Richard, Matilda Maude and Joane.  She died at the age of 38 in 1213.1 


Maud (Matilda)'s first family with Roger 'Helle' De Lacy

‌Maud (Matilda) and Roger 'Helle' were married in a religious ceremony in 1190 in England.1   They had a son named John.


Maud (Matilda)'s second family with William 'The Younger' De Braose

‌Maud (Matilda) and William 'The Younger' were married in a religious ceremony in 1197.  They had seven sons named John, Richard, Anthony, Giles, Phillip, Walter and William.


Maud (Matilda)'s third family with Rhys Gryg 'The Hoarse' Lord Of Deheubert

‌Maud (Matilda) and Rhys Gryg 'The Hoarse' were married in a religious ceremony in 1211.  They had a son named Rhys Mechyll.
