Roger 'The Good' was born in 1115 in Tunbridge Castle, Kent, Eng.1   Roger 'The Good''s father was Richard Fitzgilbert De Clare and his mother was Alice De Meschines.  His paternal grandparents were Gilbert Fitzrichard De Clare and Adeliza (Adelaide) De Clermont; his maternal grandparents were Ranulph 'De Gernon' Le Maschines and Lucy Taillebois. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Gilbert, Robert Fitzrichard, Richard, Alice (Adeliza), Adeliza, Adles and Rohese.  He was the second oldest of the eight children. He had a half-sister named Alice-Adeliza.  He died at the age of 58 in 1173 in Oxon, Oxford.  He was buried in Eynsham Priory, Oxfordshire, England.2 1 


Roger 'The Good''s family with Maud De St. Hillary

‌Roger 'The Good' and Maud were married in a religious ceremony in 1155 in Hertford, England.2   They had a son and three daughters, named Richard, Mable, Aveline and Mabel.
