William Vanzant

William was born in April 1804.¹   William's father was Garrett VanZandt and his mother was Elizabeth Lewis. He had four brothers and five sisters, named James, John, Almer, Henry, Jane, Mary, Sarah, Nancy and Hannah.  He was the third oldest of the ten children.
