John Read 
John was born in 1604 in ,,Lincolnshire, England and his baptism took place in Of Weymouth, Braintree, Mass.1 John's father was William Reed and his mother was Lucy Heneage. His paternal grandparents were William Reed and Rebecca Mince Mennis; his maternal grandparents were Michael Heneage and Grace Honywood. He had three brothers and four sisters, named William V, Richard, Thomas, Rebecca, Jane, Ann and Grace. He was the oldest of the eight children.
