George Ralph Janes was born on August 20th, 1896 in Dunkerton, Blackhawk, Iowa.1 George Ralph Janes' father was Frank Waite Owen and his mother was Alice Elizabeth Janes. His paternal grandparents were Eli Owen and Maria Henrietta Cook. He had two brothers and seven sisters, named Frank Joseph, Fred Royal Janes, Elizabeth Maud Janes, Clara Belle, Laura Edna Janes, Roxie May Janes, Edith Mable, Louie Ruth and Alice Berenice. Death unknown. He was in the U.S. Army. He also had a
tonsillectom y and was
blinded afterward from anesthetic. Probably temporary. He went
to C alifornia
to find work. After his brother, Fred, returned from the Army
he wen t to look
for him and his father. Found a trunk that appeared to belong
to hi s father
near Long Beach, California. Nothing more.
