Bertha May Owen 
Bertha May was born on February 16th, 1876 in Dunkerton, Blackhawk, Iowa, USA.1 Bertha May's father was Eli Owen and her mother was Maria Henrietta Cook. Her paternal grandparents were Jonathon Rice Owen and Hannah Whaley; her maternal grandparents were John R. Cook and Anne Waite. She had three brothers and seven sisters, named Frank Waite, Harvey Jay, Charles Ford, Edith Louise, Luella Ginevera, Annie Adel, Nettie Erdine, Louie Belle, Cora Effie and Ethel Grace. She was the fourth youngest of the eleven children. She died at the age of 72 on November 23rd, 1948.1 General Notes
