William Malet Baron Of Curry Malet 
William Malet Baron Of Curry was born in 1027 in a companion of William the conquorer, a Norman Baron.1 William Malet Baron Of Curry's father was Aelfgar Earl Of Mercia and his mother was Elfgifu Princess Of England. His paternal grandparents were 3rd Earl Of Mercia Leofric and Lady Godiva Countess Of Mercia; his maternal grandparents were Aethelred II King of England and Alfgifu Aelflaed Queen England. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Edwin Earl Of East, Morcar Earl Of, Eadwine Of, Ealdgyth Queen Of, Lucia Of and Agatha Of. He was the oldest of the seven children. He had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named EAldred of, Algitha and Ealdgyth Algitha Queen. He died at the age of 44 in 1071.1 General Notes

WILLIAM, LORD MALET, a Norman Baron, one of the generals and companions of William the Conqueror, said to have been the brother of King Harold's wife, and to have been entrusted with the guard of Harold's body after he had been slain on the battlefield. After the conquest he was made governor of York Castle and was slain in its defense about 1071.
