Walram V von was born about 1209 in <, Monschau, North Rhine-Westphalia, Preussen>.1 Walram V von's father was Duke of Monschou Waleran and his mother was Ermensinde de Luxembourg. His paternal grandparents were III Henry and Sophie von Saarbrücken; his maternal grandparents were Henri II de Luxembourg and Agnes Van Gelre. He had four brothers and a sister, named Heinrich II von, Gerhard III von, Adolf VI von, Henri III (II) de and Katharina von. He was the third oldest of the six children. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Henry V the Blind of and Elisabeth de. He died on April 20th, 1242.1 General Notes
