Lived in Lynn, MA 1690, and Scarsborough, ME 1703. Henry Libby was selectman of Scarsborough in 1686. In 1690 he fled with his father-in-law to Lynn, MA, but was one of the first to resettle. He returned in a sloop in 1703 and built a garrison on Prout's Neck, successfully defending from a force of 500 French and Indians.

HENRY(5), 78 12 Aug. 1786, near 83 in June 1731. Garrison soldier in Philip's War. Selectm. Scarb. 1686. . . . . In 1690 he escaped with his wife's family to Lynn where in 1701 he was tenant on a farm of John Cogswell. In 1709 he was a creditor of Moses -Hawkes's est. Among the first to resettle Scarb., his sons depos. that they came July 1717 and that in 1718 they liv. in the Jordan garrison at Spurwink. They stood their ground in Dummer's War, and helped defend the garrison on Prout's Neck.
In 1728, at 80, he joined the newly formed Scarb. church. His ho. stood near the east corner of the old Black Point burying ground, and the site was taken into it. Will 21 Feb. 1729-30, d. 21 Oct. 1732. He m. Honor Hinkson(1), who d. 24 Aug. 1724, ag.60. Ch: Mary, m. in Marblehead 13 Jan 1714-5 Richard Webber. Samuel, Lt., b 1689, had the homestead. . . .Town clerk 6 yrs.; Proprietors' Clerk from 1727 until old age; Selectm. 1721-1742, except one yr.; often moderator, As lot-layer, be laid out most of the town. In 1726 divine service was held alternately in his ho. and in Col. Westbrook's ho. at Dunstan. In 1726 he was of the committee to build the meeting ho. D. 1 Jan. 1770. He m. 29 Feb. 1727 Abigail Mcserve, who d. 10 Nov. 1734 ( ch. d. y.); 2d 17 Jan. 1739 Mary Jones, who d. June 1754. 5 ch:. Sarah. The Ports So.
