Lofdi was born in 0498 in Ringerike Buskerud Norway.1 Lofdi's father was Halfdan "The Old" Hringsson King in Ringerik and his mother was Almveigu Eymundsdatter. His paternal grandparents were Hring Raumsson and Miss Vifilsdatter; his maternal grandfather was Eymund King of Holmgard. He had three brothers named Skelfi, Hildi and Budli.
