Thomas Gilbert 
Thomas was born in 1584 in Bridgewater, Somersetshire, England.1 Thomas' father was Giles Gilbert and his mother was Joan Pierce. His paternal grandfather was Giles or Robert Gilbert. He had five brothers and four sisters, named Giles, John, William, Matthew, Humphrey, Elizabeth, Joan, Anne and Susanna. He was the fourth youngest of the ten children. He died at the age of 55 in 1639 in Taunton, Bristol, Massachusetts.1 General Notes
