Ioannis Dukas was born in 1064 in of, Constantinople, Turkey.1 Ioannis Dukas' father was Andronikos Dukas and his mother was Marija Bulgaria. His paternal grandparents were ***Prince Of Byzantine Empire Dukas Ioannis and Irini Pegonitissa; his maternal grandparents were Trajan Bulgaria*** and daughter of Romanos Aballantes. He had a brother and three sisters, named Michael Dukas, Irina Dmitrievna, Anna and Theodora Dukaina. He was the second oldest of the five children. He died at the age of 29 in 1093.1 General Notes
