Geoffroi Ier was born in 0987.1 Geoffroi Ier's father was Geoffrey II of Semur and his mother was Maud Mathilda De Chalons. His paternal grandparents were Geoffrey I of Semur and Dalmace De Brioude; his maternal grandparents were Lambert de Chalons and Adelaide Adelais De Bourgogne. He had two brothers named Dalmace I of and Thibaut. He was the second oldest of the three children. He died at the age of 50 in 1037.1 General Notes
