Pierre was born on June 28th, 1542 in Neuvy-Sur, Loire, Nievre, France.1 Pierre's father was Jean D'Mailly and his mother was Jacquine Neville. His paternal grandparents were Fere II D'Mailly and Louise Marie de Montmorency **; his maternal grandparents were Robert Neville and Il'Le D'Bertram. He had a sister named Il'Le Catherine. He was the older of the two children. He died at the age of 38 in 1580 in Naarden, Amsterdam, Holland. He was buried in Naarden, Amsterdam, Holland.1 1 General Notes

Pierre Mabille, Seigneur de Nevi has been regarded an the founder of the
Mabie-Mebie familly that came to America. According to tradition he had
estates in Neuvy which seems to be the present village of Neuvy-en-Mauges,
Anjou. Pierre apparently fled during the St. Bartholomew's Massacre of 24 Aug
1572 to Holland. He is supposed to have been of high rank in the army of the
Admiral, Gaspard de Coligny.
