Adam I was born about 1101 in <Skelton in Cleveland, North Riding, Yorkshire, England>.1 Adam I's father was Robert I Brus and his mother was Agnès Pagnell. His paternal grandparents were Adelm Brus and Emma de Ramsay; his maternal grandparents were Fulk Paganel and Agnes Fitzwilliam. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Robert II "le Meschin", Pagon de, Agatha and Lucy de. He was the oldest of the five children. He died in 1143.
