Text: Thomas Brownell, the original immigrant, from whom virtually alltheBrownell's in America are descended, was born in England. Hisbirthplace is not known, but he was baptised on June 5, 1608 atRawmarshParish, Yorkshire (between Doncaster and Rotherham, a few milesnorth ofthe Derbyshire border). He was the youngest son of Robert andMary(Wilson) Brownell of Sanda Magna Parish, Abrigg Waberntake,Yorkshire.This Thomas married Anne Bourne at St. Benet's, Pauls Warf,London onMarch 20, 1637. She was the daughter of Richard Bourne, agrocer of St.Michael Cornhill Parish, London.
