James Brown 
James was born about 1632 in Providence, Providence, Rhode Island.1 James' father was Chaddus Brown and his mother was Elizabeth Sharparrowe. His paternal grandparents were Arthur Browne and Mrs. Arthur Brown; his maternal grandparents were John Sharparrowe and Mrs.John Sharparrowe. He had five brothers and three sisters, named John, Jeremiah, Daniel, Judah, Chad, Phoebe, Mary and Deborah. He was the third oldest of the nine children. He died in 1683 in Newport, Newport, Rhode Island.1 General Notes
