Anna Katharina Anthes

Anna Katharina was born about 1849 in Germany and her baptism took place on September 9th, 1849 in Evangelisch, Zwingenberg, Starkenburg, Hessen, Germany.¹   Anna Katharina's father was Jacob Wilhelm Anthes and her mother was Elizabetha Josepha Trietsch.  Her paternal grandparents were Christian Wilhelm Anthes and Anna Maria Schmidt; her maternal grandparents were Matthaeus Trietsch and Hanna Volk. She had two brothers and two sisters, named John Henry, William Christian, Helene and Elizabeth.  She was the second youngest of the five children.
