and St. Paul, 1704. Samuel III's Will was witnessed by J.
Pleasant, Jr, Wm. Short and Richard West, presented in
court by David LeSeure (Sr.) and Daniel Weaver, two of the
three executors named in the will, and proved by Wm. Short.
Gave a receipt recorded September Court, 1750, Clerk of the
Circuit Court, Cumberland Co, VA, Will Book No. 1, p.26,
for 20 pounds 7 shillings and6 pence received Aug III Day
MDCCL from Magdalen Guerrant, Exc. of Peter Guerrant,
deceased, in full satisfaction of his demand of right of
his wife from the estate of Daniel Guerrant, deceased, and
also his wife's right to the estate of her two deceased
children Daniel and Peter Guerrant, "being this daySettled
and arbitrated by Thomas Turpin, John Harris and George
Garrington." The receipt was witnessed by Jos. Beingley and
