Her paternal grandparents were John III Savage and Eleanor De Brereton; her maternal grandparents were Thomas 1St Baron Stanley and Joan Goushill. She had three brothers and three sisters, named Robert, John V, Edward, Eleanor, Margaret and Katherine. She was the third youngest of the seven children.-
