Simon Alfred Whited 
Simon Alfred was born on November 9th, 1886 in Shelby,Iowa. Simon Alfred's father was Noman Whited and his mother was Sarah Jane Smith. His paternal grandparents were Lazarus Whited and Ruth Maria Surber. He had two brothers and five sisters, named William Ennis, Isaiah, Mary Lavina, Bertha Myrtle, Anna Laura, Jennie Elizabeth and Nellia Mae. He died at the age of 38 on February 17th, 1925 in Rocky Ford,Otero,Colorado. He was buried in Wichita,Sedgwick,Kansas.General Notes

From Death Certificate of Anita Elaine Toothaker dated Jan 22 1996 from Glenn County, California.
Contracted Tuberculosis while in the Army; traveled to a sanitarium in New Mexico or Arizona. Apparently knew he was dying and tried to get back to his family in Wichita. Died on a train near Rocky Ford, Colorado on the way back to Wichita.
Military: United States Army May 10, 1918 to March 21, 1919; sgt 4th Co., 1st Bn, 164th Depot Brigade; Camp Funston, Kansas; WWI but did not have to go to Europe.
