Mahala Vinson 
Mahala was born in 1828 in Tazewell County,Illinois. Mahala's father was Daniel M. Vinson and her mother was Ann Ennis. Her paternal grandparents were William Vinson and Lucy Guthrie; her maternal grandfather was Zacariah Ennis. She had three brothers and eight sisters, named John, Marion, William David, Susanah (Susan), Elizabeth, Barbara S., Martha, Ann, Cyrene Ann, Mary and Sarah A.. She had six half-brothers and six half-sisters, named Benjamin Newton, Issac, Larkin, Ambrose William Willoughby, Randolph, Marion, Rebecca, Nancy, Lucy, Mary E., Lorinda Clementine and William David.
‌Mahala and John Ennis were married in a religious ceremony in 1857.
