He had four brothers and seven sisters, named Marquis Mayfield, Judge Gardner, Herschel Leslie, Lester Faye, Cordelia May, Leora Gertrude, Virginia Annara, Elsie Bertha, Ola Charity, Cora Ellen and Ethia Dell. He died in Bloomington,Indiana.-
