John Stacy 
John was born on July 11th, 1697 in Massachusetts. John's father was John Stacy and his mother was Mary Clarke. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Stacy and Susanna Worcester; his maternal grandparents were Matthew Clarke and Abigail Maverick. He had five brothers and a sister, named John, Samuel, Rufus, Benjamin, Joseph and Mary. He was the second oldest of the seven children. He died before 1743.General Notes
John was the son of Thomas Stacy of Salem, who died in 1689, leaving a farm
in Ipswich, where John subsequently settled.

John Stacy was born in Ipswich and his name first appears in Gloucester in 1723 when he was a ppointed innholder on condition that he sell no drinks on the Sabbath day. In Ipswich, MA h e was know as a miller and in Gloucester as a millwright. Rador in a manuscript in the Esse x Institute, Salem, Mass. says "John and Mary (Clark) Stacy moved to Barnstable and were th e only members of this family that ever lived there.
