Jeptha was born on March 2nd, 1827 in Franklin County,KY. Jeptha's father was Nicholas Rodgers and his mother was Nancy Rodgers. His paternal grandparents were George W. Rodgers and Elizabeth Pierson. He had five brothers and four sisters, named Jeffrey, William M., John, Henry, Daniel B., Elizabeth Jane, Mahala Ann, Sarah Francis and Nancy. He was the oldest of the ten children. He died at the age of 27 on July 3rd, 1854 in Franklin County,KY.-
