John was born in 1706 in Henrico Co.,VA. John's father was *Henry (Sr) Prewitt\Pruett and his mother was *Rebecca Ann Dabbs\Dobbs. His paternal grandparents were *Thomas Prewitt and T; his maternal grandfather was James Dabbs\Dobbs. He had eight brothers and a sister, named Samuel, Thomas (Sr), Andrew, Hugh, *Richard (Sr), Uriah (Sr), William, Henry (Jr) and Rebecca.
