William was born on June 12th, 1814 in Ohio County,Kentucky. William's father was John D. Powers and his mother was Sarah Blackford. His paternal grandparents were Isaac H. Powers and Abigail Davis; his maternal grandparents were Joseph Blackford and Elizabeth. He had three brothers named Joseph, Samuel D. or and Stephen A.. He was the oldest of the four children. He had a half-brother and three half-sisters, named John Dennis, Hannah Lewisa, Lavina (Vina) Jane and Abigail.General Notes
Settled in New Albany, IN then moved to Boonville, Warrick Co. IN
Not found in 1860 Census of IN. Rumors say he moved to KY.
