1   Otto I 'the Great' Holy Roman Emperor's father was Henry I 'the Fowler' Emperor of Germany, Holy Roman Emperor and his mother was Mathilda von Ringleheim.  His paternal grandparents were Otto Grand Duke of Saxony The Illustrious and Hedwige Princess of Bavaria; his maternal grandparents were Dietrich (Theoderich) Count of the Saxon Hamalant (Ringelhei and Reginhilde von Friesland. He had two sisters named Gerberge of Princess of Germany and Hedwig of.  He died in Memleben,Saxony,Germany.  He was buried in Dom zu Magdeburg.1
