General Notes

There is a copy of some genealogical information in my possession giv en to me by David Merle Northrop, a descendant and relation.  From th at document is found the following about Micajah Starr.

"Micajah Starr most of the time went by the name Starr.  ... Buried . .. in an unmarked grave."

"The 1860 Federal Census was recorded as follows;
     Starr Northrop      M  26      boatman
     Julie Northrop      F  27
     George S. Northrop  M   6
     Emma B. Northrop    F   4
     Fanny Northrop      F  51      dom servant
     E. M. Northrop      F  17      dom servant"

"E. M. Northrop appears to (be) Esther M. Northrop, Fanny's daughter .  Fanny is the mother of Starr."

"The 1900 Federal Census was recorded as follows;
     Starr Northrop     M            gardener
     Susan A. Northrop  F (wife)  b. May 1838; d. 27 Sept. 1909
     Mary Northrop      F            sister-in law  (b. June 1841)
     George Brizee      M            broader (sic[boarder]) (b. Sept. 1857)
     Leno Aino          F  servant  (fr. Ger)  b. Sept. 1873"

"In the 1900 Census Fanny was listed as Mother-in-law with Mortinno W ilcox as follows;
     Mortinno Wilcox    M   63         (b. May 1837)
     Elvira A. (wife)   F   61         (b. May 1839  d.  12 Dec 1901)
     Fanny Northrop  (mother-in-law)
          Elvira Northrop m. Mortinno Wilcox.
          Children born to Wilcox were:
               May Bancroft  b. Jan 1859
               Wilbur Bancroft b. June 1885"

"Starr m. Susan in 1885, no children were found of this marriage."

"Micajah Starr Northrop purchased burial lots in the Greenvale Cemete ry on 25 Sept 1909, it appeared for his second wife, Susan A. Nothro p d. 27 Sept 1909 age 72.  She is buried in section F,. lot 8, grav e 3.  Micajah Starr Northrop is buried in section F, lot 8, grave 1 .  Mary Dickinson is buried in grave 2. Mary is possibly Julie Dickin son Northrop's sister?? (Julie was Micajah's first wife.  All three o f these graves are unmarked."

"The closing of Micajah Northrop's estate indicated that Emma Crego ( daughter) was the administrator and Jamin Northrop was named as a gra ndson age 16.  Micajah's son George S. died in 1908."
