Abigail was born about 1762 in Russell,VA. Abigail's father was Skidmore Muncy and her mother was Mary Scott. Her paternal grandparents were *Samuel Sr. Muncy and *Mary Daughtery or Skidmore?; her maternal grandparents were Samuel Scott and Mrs. Ann Scott. She had four brothers and five sisters, named Jerimiah, John, David, Zachariah, Margaret, Jane, Mary, Rachel and Lydia. She was the third oldest of the ten children.-
