Richard was born in of Iscoed,St Ishmael,Carmarthenshire,Wales. Richard's father was Francis Mansel Sir Barone and his mother was Catrin Morgan. His paternal grandparents were Edward Mansel Sir Knight and Jane Somerset Lady; his maternal grandparents were Henry (Harry) Morgan Esquire and Elsbeth Bowen. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Francis, Walter, Anthony, Jane, Jonet, Mary and Anne. He had three half-brothers and two half-sisters, named John, Rawleigh, Edward, Catherine (Jane) and Cecily. He died before 1636.General Notes
