Amanda was born on August 10th, 1855 in Shelby Co.,KY. Amanda's father was William I. Hughes and her mother was Mahala Rodgers. Her maternal grandparents were George W. Rodgers and Elizabeth Pierson. She had four brothers and six sisters, named John Samuel, Joseph Clarence, William Thomas, Benjamin Franklin, Sarah Elizabeth, Infant, Mahala Ann, Lucilla Lou, Martha Jane and Mildred. She was the third youngest of the eleven children. She died at the age of 13 on August 11th, 1868 in Davies Co.,MO.-
