Henry V 'the Lion' Duke of Saxony and Bavaria was born in 1129 in Ravensburg,Donau,Wurttemburg.  Henry V 'the Lion' Duke of Saxony and Bavaria's father was Henry 'the Proud' Duke of Saxony and Bavaria and his mother was Gertrude of Duchess of Lorraine Lorraine.  His paternal grandparents were Henry I 'the Black' Duke of Bavaria and Ukfhild (Wulfhilda) of Saxony; his maternal grandparents were Lothar II 'the Carolingian' King of Lorraine and Waldrada.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 66 on August 6th, 1195 in Braunschweig,Braunschweig,Germany.  He was buried in St. Blasius,Braunschweig,Braunschweig,Germany.
