Walter H was born about 1888 in Monaro,New South Wales,Australia. Walter H's father was Nikolaus HOFFMANN and his mother was Eleanor MORGAN DUNN. His paternal grandparents were PHILIPP HOFMANN or HOFFMANN and Katharina BAMBACH; his maternal grandparents were Evan MORGAN and Mary McNAMARA. He had five brothers and seven sisters, named William Nicholas, John Phillip, Hedley Samuel, Michael, Thomas Lewis, Mary Jane, Annie Isabelle, Barbara Eleanor Elsie, Lillian May, Voilet Gertrude, Elizabeth Augustine and Phillipa Mary.
