Edith or Aldgyth or was born about 1034 in Mercia,England.  Edith or Aldgyth or's father was Aelfgar and her mother was Aelgifu or Elfgifu.  Her paternal grandparents were Leofric and Godfigu or Godiva. She had three brothers named Morkere, Burchard and Eadwine. She had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named Morkere, Burchard, Eadwine and Edith-Aldgyth.  She was buried in Called "Swansneck",his handfast wife.

‌Edith or Aldgyth or and Griffith ap were married in a religious ceremony about 1057.  They had a daughter named Nest Verch.

They had a son and a daughter, named Harold and Gytha.
