Littleberry was born about 1801. Littleberry's father was James Thigpen and his mother was Sarah Elsey "Sally" Little. His paternal grandparents were James Thigpen and Lydia Grey Mayo; his maternal grandparents were William Little and Elizabeth Thigpen. He was an only child.-
