Bray was born about 1723 in Lower Norfolk Co, Va. Bray's father was Lemuel Hargrove and his mother was Lydia Howell. His paternal grandparents were Bray Hargrove and Mary Hodge(s) Hunnicutt. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Howell, John, James, Lemuel, Charles, Margaret and Lydia. He died in 1793 in Sampson, NC.-
