Efford Morton was born in January 1825. Efford Morton's father was Richeson Booker and his mother was Easter Simpson. His paternal grandparents were William Booker and Edith Unknown. He had two brothers named Simpson and Jabez M. He was the oldest of the three children. He had eight half-brothers and a half-sister, named William M., Thomas Jerry, George, James C., Richardson, America, John Marshall, Leroy and Elizabeth.-
