Eustace of Tonsburgh was born about 1005 in Tonsburgh, Normandy, France. Eustace of Tonsburgh's father was Earl Jean of Toneburgh & Conteville. His paternal grandparents were Ct. Baudouin III of Flandres and Prcs Mathilda (Maud) of Sachsen. He had a brother and two sisters, named Herlouin of Conteville, Oda of Conteville and Oda of Conteville.
